KUALA LUMPUR, 21st JUNE 2024 — Pavilion KL, nestled in the heart of Bukit Bintang, is the premier destination for shopping, dining and urban leisure. As an experiential destination, it was awarded the Malaysia Tourism Quality Assurance (MyTQA) Platinum award 2022 – 2025 by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, the only Malaysian mall to be given this distinction. This is testament of Pavilion KL’s commitment in elevating the standards of shopping tourism for Malaysia.
Pavilion KL welcomed the Perfect China Incentive Group in celebration of their 30th anniversary, welcoming the 10,000 tour participants on 18th, 19th, 21st, and 22nd June. Being at the forefront of shopping tourism, this occasion marks a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to foster international tourism and cultural exchange.
For a true Malaysian hospitality, the mall’s team greeted the delegation in traditional Malaysian costumes, with LED screens displaying welcoming messages for the Perfect China participants. Coin-tossing ceremony for good luck at the Pavilion Crystal Fountain, Malaysia’s tallest liuli fountain proved popular.
The fountain prominently features the Bloom of Hibiscus, Malaysia’s national flower, serving as a symbol of Malaysia’s rich culturalism, unity and shared aspirations.
A Malaysia Truly Asia Experiential Hub was curated in the mall, offering a wide of range of cultural activities such as batik canting, batu seremban, and traditional costume wearing. Adding to this cultural immersion, the Truly Malaysia traditional dancers vowed the participants, who joined in the dancers for a true memorable experience.
More than 100 tenants joined in the celebration by displaying welcome messages and curated special offers, along with 200 tenants offering special deals for the Tourist Privilege Card programme. The group was seen shopping and dining at the restaurants and cafes, savouring local delights such as coffee, snacks, seafood and local food dishes. The Malaysian Mega Sale Carnival from 15 June – 31 July added more value to their shopping experiences, with sales and discounts on a wide range of popular tourist products.
The wide acceptance of popular payment platforms for China tourists such as WeChat Pay, Alipay, UnionPay and cashless payments have made shopping and dining convenient for tourists. For the participants, they received a Royal Selangor gift with UnionPay cards and exclusive Dragon Tray gifts with spend.
Working closely with Pearl Holiday (M) Travel & Tour Sdn. Bhd. and Tourism Malaysia, Pavilion KL delivered memorable experiences for the Perfect China Incentive Group, and will continue to work with industry and tourism stakeholders to capitalise on the growing MICE market and help boost the shopping and experiential economy.
