Malaysia Leads Global Launch of LUSH Coral Soap, Funding Marine Conservation

April 6, 2026

Malaysia becomes the first market globally to launch Lush’s first-ever Coral Soap, a purpose-led product created to support marine conservation through funding for Reef Check Malaysia’s ongoing work in Tioman Island.

Available exclusively in Malaysia for a limited four-month period, Coral Soap marks a first-of-its-kind launch for the brand, combining ethical product innovation with direct environmental action. As part of the initiative, 75% of the sales price (minus tax) from every soap sold will be donated to Reef Check Malaysia to support the country’s coral reefs and marine ecosystems.

“This launch is meaningful because it brings together exclusivity, purpose, and local impact. Malaysia is the first market to introduce Coral Soap, directly supporting the preservation of our marine life,” said Dr. Harvinder Harchand, Director of Lush Malaysia.

Funds from Coral Soap will go directly towards rehabilitating damaged reefs through coral propagation and replanting, tackling marine pollution through ghost net removal and beach clean-ups, installing mooring lines to prevent anchor damage, and delivering environmental education programmes in three primary schools and one secondary school on Tioman Island.

Founded in 2007, Reef Check Malaysia partners with local coastal communities to safeguard marine biodiversity through research, conservation programmes and education, forming part of the global Reef Check Foundation network.

Coral Soap also marks the first product under Lush Malaysia’s newly launched Advocacy and Giving initiative, which channels product sales into targeted environmental and social causes.
Known worldwide for its fresh handmade cosmetics, ethical sourcing, and campaigning work, Lush continues to connect everyday purchases with meaningful action, proving that even a simple soap can help protect Malaysia’s natural treasures.

Valued at RM59, the Lush Coral Soap is available now in all Lush Malaysia stores nationwide as well as online through their website:LUSH MY. For more information on Reef Check Malaysia, visit their website:Home – Reef Check Malaysia.
