Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s premier shopping destination, today celebrated ‘A Mid-Autumn Feast’, the largest mooncake bazaar in Bukit Bintang, for the 2nd year running. With over 100 selections of mooncakes available, ‘A Mid-Autumn Feast’ is held at the Centre Court, level 2, for the first time in the mall, where shoppers and tourists are invited to indulge in gourmet favourites as well as artisan mooncakes from renowned hotels, local bakers and brands, from now till 15 September 2016.
To celebrate the launch, media and guests were treated to a traditional ‘Chang é’ (Goddess of the Moon) dance performance at the Spanish Steps before being taken on a special mooncake bazaar tour with Ms Kung Suan Ai, Director of Marketing for Pavilion KL. This year, ‘A Mid-Autumn Feast’ sees a participation of 21 well-known brands including Hilton KL, The Westin KL, Japanese restaurant, Nobu KL; as well as local favourites such as Purple Cane and all the way from Johor Bahru, the Qian Yue Ting confectionary brand, best known for their ‘musang’ durian mooncakes.
At the tour, guests were introduced to the signature mooncakes this year and given the opportunity to sample the various mooncakes on display. Guests were also invited to indulge in a tea pairing session helmed by the Purple Cane tea connoisseur, who demonstrated the types of teas that go best with the various flavours of mooncakes.
“The annual Mid-Autumn Festival is a great time for family members to get together and enjoy the tradition of savouring mooncakes. As a leading shopping mall in Malaysia, Pavilion KL prides itself for being a festive hub where people from all walks of life gather to busk in the festivity. This year, we are pleased to present the largest mooncake bazaar in Bukit Bintang once again and we thank our mooncake partners for joining us on this celebration. As an award-winning mall, we will continue to present bigger and unique experiences to our shoppers that set us apart from the rest,” said Ms Kung Suan Ai.
Throughout the festival, shoppers will get to relish in the traditions of the festival with activities like ‘Caramelized Candy-Making’ demonstrations, ‘Chinese Art Painting’ demonstrations and ‘Lantern-making’ workshops. Shoppers who spend RM300 at the Mooncake Bazaar will enjoy an even bigger feast as they will get to redeem a RM30* dining voucher in return. Shoppers who spend RM800 at the Mid-Autumn Feast will receive a RM100* dining voucher.
